With Liam Rosenior officially taking charge of Chelsea, how to utilize the team's star player, Cole Palmer, has become a focus of attention.
In a pre-match interview before the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, Rossellini expressed high hopes for the 23-year-old England international, but also made it clear that protecting the player's health was the top priority during the busy January schedule.
Rossellini listed Palmer alongside rising stars like Caicedo and Enzo as a special talent for the team. He stated, "The most terrifying thing about Cole is that he's only 23 years old and already shows world-class skill. His brilliant passes against Fulham were simply incredible, and I'm very eager to work with him."
Despite Chelsea's Carabao Cup match against arch-rivals Arsenal tonight, Rossellini remains reserved about Palmer's potential return. Palmer missed a significant portion of the first half of the season due to groin and foot injuries, and the team faces a grueling eight-game schedule within four weeks.
"It would be crazy to risk using recovered players in January. If we want to stay strong at the end of the season, we must respect the advice of our medical team," Rossene emphasized.
When discussing tactical arrangements, Rossellini stated that Palmer's versatility allows him to play in any position in the attacking third. He promised to give Palmer ample creative freedom to score goals and provide assists, but also demanded that the entire team adhere to the philosophy of attacking and defending as a whole.
Rosselline specifically praised Palmer: "Cole has proven that he presses aggressively and runs hard for the team off the ball. So I really look forward to working with him; his undeniable potential and ability are truly awe-inspiring."
